I am an experienced mature voice artist with credits including audiobooks for major publishers, commercials, e-learning, animation and corporate videos. I will work with you to deliver the highest standards for your project, self-directing or under your direction, connecting with you from my own professional studio. My experience as an actor over many years, working in radio drama, theatre, TV and film, (in both Australia and the UK), has developed my skill in delivering text in a way which is engaging and alive.

 Training

I trained as an actor at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama (1974-1977), then emigrated to Australia two years later. I have continued to do workshops in voice and learning accents, including studying phonetics as a mature age student at Macquarie University, Sydney in first year Linguistics, as part of my B.A. Most of my voice over skills, however, have been developed through a wide range of professional voice over work. My technical recording skills have been developed through one to one sessions with audio engineers/tutors such as Rob Bee, and through online webinars with Gravy for the Brain.

 Experience

Before starting to work as a voice artist in 1995, I developed my skills working as an actor in television, (including 'Neighbours', Australia), feature film, theatre, radio drama and corporate role play. In 1995 I began narrating educational video for Classroom Video, Sydney, also playing character roles in animated educational videos with the company. I narrated documentary with SBS TV, Sydney. In the UK I recorded many short stories with www.shortstoryradio.com, (which later became www.thestoryplayer.com), recorded fiction and non-fiction audiobooks with AudioGo Ltd, (the former home of BBC Audio), and for Ulverscroft and Harper and Collins, working with in-studio producers/directors, and recording from my own professional studio for Audible. In animation I recorded characters with CBBC online and with animator Jeremy Fries . E-learning clients have included Kineo Ltd, Brighton, and movement capture with Cognitant, delivering healthcare information to the public and medical sector.

 Specials

I work both from recording studios in Oxford and London, and from my own professional studio. My main recording software is Ocenaudio, which I use for both recording and editing and processing. My background as an actor in both drama and comedy is invaluable, and I have a wide vocal range which also helps me to create many characters.
