Hi, my name is Richard and I'm a multi-talented Latin-American artist with Autism in Los Angeles determined to create characters and stories in animation & video games for a living. I grew up on Disney, Dreamworks, Cartoon Network, Anime, Nintendo, Playstation , Xbox, and now I want to be a part of those worlds as a voice actor. As I have always done in education, work, and personal strides, I go the extra mile and bring all my talents, boundless positive energy, deep love for the craft, and more to the team.
Training
Besides specializing in Character Design, Storyboarding, and Animation during my BFA Animation & Illustration program at Cal State Long Beach, I found great joy in voicing for not only my own projects but other students' animatics and films.
After graduation, I trained for, recorded, and produced my Animation VO Demo under veteran voice actor Richard Horvitz, Voice Director of Vivienne Medrano's Hazbin Hotel on Amazon Prime & her spin-off Helluva Boss on YouTube, as well as starring as Moxxie in the latter. You may recognize his as the titular voice of Nickelodeon's Invader Zim, CN's Grimm Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Raz in the video game Psychonauts, and more.
And he sings, too! Vocal instructor and songwriter Rachael Lawrence trained me in singing for my Song Demo.
After much training with Anna Garduño, we recorded and produced my Commercial Demo and additional spots with Michael Datz at MICDI Productions.
I am currently in my second year of the Meisner Technique Course at John Ruskin's School of Acting and have learned under Mikey Myers, Michael Laurie, and John Ruskin himself. I intend to continue in their graduate program afterwards.
I make great use of the many VoiceOver booth sessions, workshops with casting directors, managers, agents, and talent, and more programs at SAG-AFTRA-Foundation.
I am working towards Video Game Demos, Promo Demos, Spanish Demos, and more as I continue in my journey in VO.
Experience
My personal achievement was making SAG-AFTRA through Amazon Prime's "With Love," which opened the door to resources and opportunities I would otherwise have never been able to access.
