I’m a full-time professional voiceover artist with a naturally resonant voice described as warm, reassuring, trustworthy and relatable.
My voiceover delivery is articulate, expressive and engaging. I follow direction well. And my range of vocal skills means I can convey all kinds of tones, pacing styles and emotions. So whatever the script, I’ll bring the right energy and character to connect with your audience.
Based in Bristol, UK, I work from a fully equipped home studio, enabling me to produce high-quality voice recordings with fast turnaround times for clients worldwide. Industries I’ve delivered projects in range from advertising to gaming.
I’m available to take on a wide variety of voiceover work — from commercials and documentary narration to corporate and explainer videos, e-learning modules and video game or animation characters.
Natural accent: Neutral British RP English — though also fluent in many other accents, including various regional British and American.
Training
I first became interested in doing voiceover work through my roles in other media spaces.
After writing the script for a BBC Television documentary, I was inspired by the way my words leapt off the page thanks to the work of a voiceover artist.
Later, colleagues in digital publishing remarked that I had a natural voice for voiceover work (little knowing this is just the tip of the iceberg…). So I did some takes for an online video they were producing.
I also reflected on the fact that I’d previously won school-wide poetry reading competitions and been marked out by drama and city youth theatre teachers for a career in acting. Degrees in English Literature (BA, First Class) and Critical and Cultural Theory (MA) would take me down a different path, however.
Long story short, though, the seed was sown. Next, I completed ‘The Recorded Voice’, a program by leading British voice actor and voiceover coach Guy Michaels, before having valuable one-to-one coaching sessions with Guy.
Equipped with the knowledge from this training and wide-ranging research, I then turned the idea into reality. I honed my skills at the mic through rigorous daily practice on many different scripts. I set up my home studio — the space I’d need to produce broadcast-quality audio recordings. And I moved into the world of professional voiceover and began winning clients.
Experience
As well as being a voiceover talent, I’m a successful writer and content creator. My 18-year media track record spans documentary production, copywriting and digital publishing.
I’m a natural storyteller with a passion for engaging and inspiring diverse audiences across different media using a wide range of registers and tones of voice.
And with extensive experience as a writer and editor — including BBC Television documentary creation and scripting of drive-time radio spots — I can also help when it comes to working on scripts.
I’ve been an active, recording drummer for over 20 years too. As a result, I’ve developed a strong sense of rhythm and cadence plus a fundamental understanding of audio production and quality.
Above all, I’m a committed professional driven by a single, unswerving goal: to elevate each and every project I work on, meeting deadlines and delivering exceptional results.
