"Warm, smooth and clear voice with a playing age of teens to 30s"

Hello! I’m Ella Whitehead, a British voice-over artist and actor based in the South East of England. My voice is warm, smooth and clear with a playing age from teens to early 30s. I work with clients across the globe to not only voice their scripts but also bring their projects to life. From my broadcast-quality home studio, I specialise in voicing a range of services including commercials, audiobooks, eLearning, documentaries and IVR to name a few. After working in schools and with children, I have a particular passion for voicing children's stories!

 Training

From a young age, I trained in acting, dance and musical theatre, continuing at READ College and Laine Theatre Arts. Whilst in training I had regular voice and acting lessons, particularly focusing on storytelling, projection, resonance and clarity. I also learnt various accents including General American, New York, French, Cockney, Heightened RP and Irish to name a few. I'm always studying and practising new accents which I can use in your voice-over if required! My first year of professional musical theatre training was interrupted by the global pandemic so I began to expand my horizons to voice-over! I bought myself a simple microphone and audio interface setup and used the extra time I had to learn how to record and edit. In 2023 I began creating a more permanent home studio setup with a StudioBricks vocal booth. To complement the structural / physical changes, I have been refining my skills and my sound with a well established audio engineer who has given me a custom EQ and chain.

 Experience

The first voice-over I did was at the age of thirteen for BBC One on Panorama (Malala: Shot For Going To School), dubbing an interview in English. Since graduating college, I have worked with hundreds of clients, most notably Castle Fine Art, the University of Hertfordshire, Stellar London, Bangor University and Dead Sea Dream. I have also been the voice of many eLearning courses both within the UK and internationally.

 Specials

As I was professionally trained in musical theatre, I have a strong and well rounded singing voice. I am confident with many styles including musical theatre, pop, rock, classical and, my favourite, jazz.
