Simon Hester

Hi! I'm a voice artist who is able to creates compelling narratives with my voice. I have many years experience as a performer in both narration and music which give me a unique perspective which comes across in the expertly paced rhythms of my narration work.
Often creating both narration and music for audiobooks, I'm able to over see the production process from start to finish.

Principle vocal characteristics are warmth, sincerity, depth and authority ; ideal for many narrative styles and especially the classics.
My character work is versatile and my lighter style is well suited to narration requiring a comic style.
I'm particularly effective in voiceover requiring a trustworthy and authoritative style.

I can produce professional quality work from my home studio and can works quickly and flexibly to requirements.

 Formation

I have gained much insight over the years from my carreer as a musician, working with many fine professional singers and actors.
Since focusing more particularly on voice over in the last 4 years I have undertaken a number of training courses through The Voiceover Network.

 Expérience

I have established my own audiobook label "Head Stories Audio" which specialise in Classic literature. I create both the narration and music for these productions and we currently have a catalogue of over 40 titles, with 10 more audio books due for release in 2022, including the Complete Sherlock Holmes series and further instalments in The Complete H.G Wells series. I have also narrated for independent authors and publishers including World Publishers and Ouen Press.
I have done commercial work for a numvber of clients including The Royal Airforce Benevolent Fund, XVO Productions and Galaxy publishing.

I have composed music for audio book productions, stage productions and concert work. I am a published composer with Musica Ferrum.
