Joe Diomede
I have a deep and nuanced understanding of language and can communicate simple and complex ideas very clearly. Connecting to the text is something I focus on first when I receive any sort of copy, because that's where good voice over work starts- with connection.
I've narrated educational videos, voiced commercials and have even done a radio play on NPR where I voiced five characters. Voice work is a sincere passion of mine and I spend quite a bit of time honing my skills so that I'm always finding ways to make my work richer.
Formation
I received my Master's in Fine Arts in theater performance at the Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts, one of the top conservatory programs in the United States. While training there, we studied vigorously in voice and speech and learned all about freeing the voice for a richer, more connected voice. We also learned how breath and the relief of tension is essentially key to the work.
After receiving my MFA, I studied with several voice coaches and professionals: Amy Marcs, Andy Roth and Sarah Krieger. They gave me the tools to find my sweet spot and spontaneity in the work, along with the tools that more easily allow me to self-direct. And I practice and work every single day.
Expérience
I recently voiced a 40 minute advertisement/educational video, where I got to both explain complex medical jargon and sell a product. I've also been recording educational and training videos for a health tech startup. Several years ago, I had the great fortune of voicing five different characters in a radio play on NPR.
Particularités
I produced a podcast recently where I cut and mixed audio along with adding music to the intro and outro. I acquire more editing and mixing skills the more I work in voiceover daily.
