I commit 100% to the acting part of the phrase "voice acting." I think this gives me a broad range and that is my favorite part of this job. I love how every project is radically different from the last. This week, I was a serious, moving narrator, a guy next door talking up his mower, and a talking Vampire Apple character! I work very quickly and take notes and direction easily. There is no ego involved here. I am just forever grateful to have the ability to do this. Fourteen-year-old me would have freaked if he knew half the things I've been blessed to do!
Formation
Experimenting, training, learning from coaches and mentors and most of all DOING. A long time ago a mentor of mine, Pete Franklin, said to get good at it, you just have to get in that studio and do it, do it, do it.
Expérience
Despite the fact that I somehow wedged my way into the National Radio Hall Of Fame in Chicago, I have hit the reset button in retirement in the corner of our closet doing voice acting! My audio quality is pro, my turnaround time is lightning fast (what else am I going to do, mow the lawn?), and most of all, my desire, attitude and eagerness has never waned or been clouded by any ego. I have nothing but gratitude for each opportunity.
FOUR YEARS AS IN SHOW NARRATOR FOR NATIONAL TOUR OF DISNEY ON ICE, "FROZEN."
VOICE ACTOR ON RECENT (2021) VIRAL AD FOR TONY HAWK/LIQUID DEATH WATER.
FREQUENT HIRE FOR TV PROMO VOICE WORK, QUIRKY CHARACTER VOICES AND PERSONAS, AND WARM TRUSTED FRIEND NATURAL VOs.
WALMART, AMC THEATERS, DISCOUNT TIRE, CVS ... these are just some of the places I’ll be applying if this VO thing doesn’t work out. *Walmart*, *AMC Theaters*, *Discount Tire*, *CVS* ... these are just some of the places I’ll be applying if this VO thing doesn’t work out.
Particularités
I have done a handful of singing projects, mostly as characters, and a lot of it sounds like "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch."
