"Warm, calm and direct - an assured voice."

I'm a highly accomplished & versatile Audiobook narrator, with over 60 audiobooks under my belt. I get very involved in the stories I narrate, and am also very well able to work to tight deadlines, both in terms of receiving scripts at the last minute, and also tight recording schedules, without losing any of the quality of the storytelling. Among the studios/publishers I've worked for regularly are: Penguin Random House, Isis Publishing, Soundings, Orion, Oakhill Publishing, Greenbank Studios, WF Howes, White House Sound, Interface Studios, Heavy Entertainment and Random House USA.

 Formation

I trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School as an actress, and I've gained a lot of experience on the job, working first at RNIB before working in commercial studios. Courses in voiceover I've taken have included Bernard Shaw's at the Actors' Centre, Peter Baker's online, Gravy for the Brain, the Voiceover Network, and Equity (UK).

 Expérience

My biggest achievements so far:

1. Being nominated for a One Voice Award for Audiobook Narrator 2018
2. Narrating Sebastian Barry's Man Booker-nominated 'On Canaan's Side'
3. Doing ADR on the Oscar-nominated film 'Brooklyn' (especially as I'd narrated the book for RNIB)
4. Working with David Rapkin on Walter Dean Myers' Riot (Ellen)
5. Being chosen to be the voice of Sabina Higgins, Ireland's First Lady on the audiobook 'Rocking the System'
6. Working consistently with some of the best studios and producers in the UK, including at Penguin Random House, Heavy Entertainment, Orion, Interface Studios, Greenbank Studios, Isis Publishing, Soundings, WF Howes, White House Sound, and Random House USA.
7. Voicing commercials for Estée Lauder, Brown Thomas, Flora and Revitive in Ireland and Marriott Hotels for Europe and ME
9. Writing a 4-part series on women composers for RTÉ Lyric FM, which gained Critics' Choice in the Irish Times for the duration
10. Performing in front of the Clintons

 Particularités

I'm a professional operatic contralto, a trained classical actress and I speak Irish, German and Italian fluently - French less so, but I am able to read it well. I worked on an inhouse training video for NBC Universal in English, German and Italian, for example. I've a great ear for accents; lots of experience in different sectors, including sales, hospitality, education and charity. I've also written for the Huff Post UK, the Irish Times and Opera magazine.
