Danielle is a Northerner living in London - so naturally, she's warm, charming and gravy obsessed. Her love of the arts began as a child, with a flashy (trashy) plastic microphone, a bandanna and the Steps platinum album on CD - it was the 90’s after all.
Danielle moved to the capital after being accepted at the London Academy of Music and Drama, big deals for a spotty teen from Donny, who hadn’t yet discovered Pret A Manger or learnt how boil an egg.
Since graduating she’s had a rewarding and varied career as an actor and theatre maker. She has created theatre with organizations including: The RSC, Royal Court, Traverse Festival, Camden People's Theatre, Hull Truck & Theatre 503.
She was a member of social activist theatre company LUNG, with whom she developed E15 and The 56 winning the 'Spotlight’s Most Promising Actor' award in 2015.
She is a co-director of ‘From the Gut Theatre’, a company dedicated to facilitating wellbeing retreats for underprivileged artists, offering them the space, time and mentorship to work on their next pieces.
Danielle doesnt know how to rest, and so spent the lockdowns writing her first play, which celebrates the notorious clubland scene of her hometown in the 90’s. ‘Children of the Night’ evolved into a large-scale community project and stage play that opened to sell out audiences across Yorkshire.
Some notable times she’s ‘just acted’ include playing Judith in Ben Elton’s Olivier nominated ‘The Upstart Crow’ in the West End and lots of wenches at Shakespeare's Globe.
On screen, she next appears in the highly anticipated ‘Masters of the Air’ for Apple TV, produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. She likes to think Mr Spielberg is a fan, as he gave her her first ever job on Ready Player One, which is to date, the coolest thing to ever happen to her.
In 2021 she was nominated in the Acting category for the 'Evening Standard's Future Theatre Award'.
When she is not prancing around the stage she enjoys hyper-focusing on whatever daft hobby she's into that week, and then forgetting it exists the next.
She couldn't possibly have written this in third person, as that would be incredibly vain and she would have done a much better job.
