"A warm, versatile and engaging neutral English voice"

Hello, I'm Kate, a screen and theatre actor - and a voice over artist!
I grew in the UK (North-West), but have spent about half my life in Australia. My ear and voice is very adaptable so I have developed a truly neutral English accent over the years. I lived in a few different parts of the UK before relocating down under, which means that I'm able to do all sorts of UK regional accents, including Irish, Scottish and Welsh.
I'm comfortable voicing commercial, corporate, e-learning, explainer and narration projects, and undertake regular voice over training to continually improve my skills and capacity so I can deliver my clients the very best VO results.
I have a broadcast-quality home-recording space and can either self-direct to a brief or use an online connection for directed sessions.
Do listen to my demos, and if you think I might suit your next project, I'd love to hear from you.

 Formación

I have been working as a stage and screen actor for several years.
Three years ago I decided to focus on improving my VO skills so I undertook an intensive advanced voice-over course with highly-regarded (and very successful) Australian VO Coach, Deanna Cooney. This training taught me just how to be more than 'just a nice sounding voice'. I learnt how to effectively break down scripts (subtext and context), control my pace and pitch, deliver different styles of reads (conversation/natural/announcer etc.), and improve my breathwork and breath management. After completing this course, I became a founding member of Deanna's online VO training and resource network - Rock Your VO. Through this network, I continue to develop my voice acting capabilities by attending development and workout sessions.
I also continue to work and train as an actor, as the two disciplines naturally complement one another.

 Experiencia

I have recently voiced an upcoming documentary series for the Western Australian Museum network called "Such Was Life".
I have also voiced characters for a pilot Podcast series produced by Envelope Audio and another independently-produced Podcast series called Awe-Stralia.
I provided the VO for a corporate video for the CEO of First Quantum Minerals who was being given a lifetime achievement award at the Mines and Money conference in London.
And I was the voice and presenter for an educational e-learning series for the Western Australian Department of Education.

 Características

I also work as a freelance copywriter and brand strategist, and have a 25+ career working in the media and advertising industries. I regularly write voice over scripts for corporate and explainer videos, so I can also help clients write (or rewrite) scripts to deliver the most engaging and effective production possible.
