John Eastman

I have been told my voice is 'easy to listen to'... but I think the key for me is that it's not just a 'voice', I like to give a whole 'character' where possible. I'm also an actor, so this comes naturally. I also teach Storytelling- and every VO job is a story!

 Formación

I learnt my VO skills in London 'on the job' as soon as I arrived here from Sydney! I Australia, I trained as an actor at James Cook University, Queensland- a Diploma in Performing Arts. But being a freelance Education specialist for 20 years has meant that I have had to immerse myself in a vast number of projects- each usually related to Performance.

 Experiencia

Several 'beer' campaigns for some of the really well known brands downunder, also the national carrier -(QANTAS), and too many individual brands to mention here... One of my favourite types of work is ADR - and frequently some of the most popular tv series in Australia get their post done in Soho, and I'm with a few other voices filling in the missing bits of dialogue. I was lucky to be asked to narrate an Adam Courtenay novel, about escape convicts, for Audible... and have now done many more audiobooks!
Another string to my bow is definitely e-learning... I have done a vast number of projects with a dedicated North London studio (Studio2002), many of which are centred around 'Internet Safety'. The clients have all been corporates in Australian institutions eg Universities.
The most enjoyable gig? Playing the horrendous oafish murdering 'GORT' in the computer game 'Xenoblade Chronicles: Torna- the Golden Country' for Nintendo. I was able to use my Acting background to the max! But before that- I also did background voices for XC part 1.
