"Experienced f/t actor with a broad range"

"In a world" of ex-radio announcers and inexperienced actors using USB microphones, Graeme provides both a fresh voice and a mature and professional approach. Specializing in commercials and broadcast/web narration, Graeme's range goes from guy-next-door to commercial reads with lots of testosterone; to smooth and sophisticated documentary narration.

He has spent 25 years in the advertising business in both agencies and as a client, so he knows the session process from both sides of the recording booth window. This experience means he "gets" the intent of a commercial quickly and takes direction well - delivery of the right performance for the project is quick and painless.

Great stuff, Graeme - the second take was exactly what I had in mind. It's been an absolute pleasure working with you. The digital phone patch is a huge advantage over my typical "send the script and hope" process!

Beyond a mere "announcer," Graeme is a voice artist. What this means to me is he sounds like the voice I hear in my head while I write scripts—only less nasal. Some people just "get" the way a script is supposed to be read. Graeme is one of those people.

"I've just finished a marathon session with Graeme for Breaking Point [a Discovery Channel TV series], and I just wanted to say what a real joy it was to work with him. Luckily he 'got' the sense of the project from the get-go, so we really flew at it. Time was very tight for this record, and he found the tone and register straight away. But what was really great was that he teased out stuff in the VO that really added to the feel of the show for us. We've got a cracking series now.

Also, as always, the VO record threw up the usual oddities, bloopers and confusions that appear at the final pass, and he was fantastic at helping solve them editorially on-the-fly. Which is always handy for a flustered producer!

It was lovely to have someone who felt part of the team, rather than just knocking off lines."

We hire a lot of voice artists for online learning projects. Narration is generally wanted “yesterday” for a project that’s already over budget and over time. Graeme helped get our large project completed easily and efficiently; which doesn’t always happen. He was always quick to respond to any questions, provided us with multiple tempo and post processing options and when we made our choices, turned our very large project around in an incredibly short time. I’d recommend Graeme for any voice project, his customer service exceeded our expectations; we’ll definitely consider him for our next course.

 Características

A 25 year veteran of the marketing business. I used to sit on the other side of the glass, and therefore understand the greater business needs behind the voiceover.

Highly literate and informed, can easily read complex narration scripts or literature with authority and ease. Capable of taking scripts translated to English by non-native translators and adapting for current North American usage (grammatical and idiomatic editing). Understands and delivers nuance in pronunciation and syntax.
