Howard Fields is a professional voiceover artist, business executive, consultant, and entrepreneur. He has been involved in voice technology since 1994 when he launched IBM’s first commercial speech recognition software.
As a long-time technology executive, what Howard’s clients appreciate most is his experience as a member of the audience they want to reach. He listens as effectively as he speaks and helps clients produce resonant messaging that conveys confidence, empathy, and trust.
Howard is fluent in business-to-business and business-to-consumer communication and is well-versed in technology jargon and trends, making him a strong candidate for complex, business, healthcare, science, and technology voiceover projects. He was also an early adopter of digital audio production, making him a skillful and dependable source for high-quality recordings.
Uniquely, Howard's awareness of the limitations of AI-based text-to-voice software has made him a superior voiceover artist by reinforcing the importance of authenticity and relatability. Impactful voiceovers require both vocal skill and the ability to evoke human emotion, something that software is unlikely to achieve.
