Amy Daml

Hi I'm Amy! I'm an American voice actor who happens to live and work in Beijing, China. Most of my voice work consists of English content for Chinese companies, either outward facing to attract Western audiences or inward facing to educate and entertain English learners in China. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience learning voice acting this way because of the diversity of projects I've been able to be a part of. I have had the opportunity of working on almost every kind of voice project: audiobooks, animation, video games, dubbing, corporate videos, commercials, in flight announcements, etc. I believe that my strongest skills are in textbook narration and voicing characters for animation and video games. I am looking to expand my business outside of China and see what else is out there in the world of voice acting. My dream would become a cast member on an animated TV series where I get to make use of all of my fun voices.

I began my voice over journey in radio. I worked for Al Franken for his radio show and did voices for his sketches on the show with his direction. Then I moved to China and worked for China Radio International as a radio host. I was coached by my supervisor there to voice promos for the radio and to improve my voice for hosting. While working at CRI, I was recruited to Star Times and coached there learn to dub TV Shows and Movies into English and I have been working with them for several years. I have worked with several famous directors here in China on dubbing movies for their international or local releases. I have taken Linklater workshops and storytelling workshops with The Story Studio. And I have worked with dialect coach here in China to improve my character voices and vocal range.

I have been a voice actor for about 12 years. The majority of my professional experience has been in China working for many of the big companies here. I have voiced the characters Flash and Rainbow for the company Perfect World's flagship animation "Cosmicrew." I have voiced video games for Tencent, Byte Dance and Lenovo. Recently, I have been the voice of the AI robot unit in the mobile game Delta Force, which was #1 on the app store earlier this year. I am the voice of multiple characters for Zebra English's very popular series of educational animations aimed at teaching kids to speak English. I narrate documentaries for Xinhua, the major news agency of China. And I have dubbed numerous TV shows and movies for the Star Times network, which broadcasts worldwide. I am also the voice of China Eastern airlines for their in flight announcements. I read textbooks and audiobooks, voice commercials, and any other voice work that comes along.
