Raised in Dover, Delaware, Al overcame obstacles to attain his college degree, establish a successful business career, raise three great kids and travel the world.

Al’s experience in the corporate world has made him a natural collaborator. VO clients love his business savvy, his enthusiasm and his commitment to quality in everything he does. Just one example of this commitment is his professional-quality home recording studio, which enables him to meet deadlines quickly and to the highest standards with respect to a diverse range of projects.

My first VO experiences took place in the corporate world because I was repeatedly told I had a "nice voice." I work for a global pharmaceutical company, so I was asked to work on several projects, specifically around the time that social justice issues were in the headlines of every major news outlet. As a result, I began to explore voice acting careers, and a friend introduced me to J. Michael Collins. After an exploratory discussion, I quickly procured JMC as a coach. For most of 2021, I worked with JMC on improving my voiceover skills and better understanding the industry. The culmination of the coaching sessions was a demo which is included in my bio. I also subscribe to Gravy for the Brain to sustain and grow my voiceover skills.

To date there are several achievements that I am most proud of:
1) Successfully completing training with JMC and actually having him laugh at my conversational commercial reads. I went in thinking this will be like the corporate projects I had completed. I couldn't have been more wrong. JMC stretched me and helped me become comfortable with the uncomfortable.
2) I secured my first job with Newfields Art Museum for the Harvest Nights promotion shortly after completing my coaching with JMC. To know that my voice was going to be heard promoting an arts and cultural influencer in the city was humbling.
3) My narration for a video that was part of our company's racial justice initiative. It was pivotal moment for our company who decided to speak out on a social issue, and I was proud to be a part of that movement.
