Before embracing voice-over work, Walker enjoyed a long and successful career in advertising and marketing with Leo Burnett(London and Cairo) Ogilvy and Mather(San Francisco)and Ammirati and Puris(New York City)where he learned much about how to understand a piece of copy and its communication objectives. Followed by 15 years running his own market research company(Berwick Consulting Company-New York and Los Angeles)conducting over 12,000 interviews(predominantly focus groups and IDI's). His voice has been variously described as;

Walker has lived and worked in Scotland, London, Cairo, San Francisco, New York City and Los Angeles and has now returned to his native Scotland.
