Puberty passed me by but....I caught a ride! I was late for my own birth. I was always the last one of my peers to get the latest doll, the newMonkees album, enter puberty, buy a bra, learn to drive, kiss a boy and "go all the way." Mom was a singer and to keep her attention I discovered that if I mimicked her I could keep her attention so I guess I became a triple threat performer by default. One father and two step fathers later at the age of 17 I headed to New York City to be God's gift to Broadway! I had already been on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour, danced and sang in school musicals, lived in a dance studio and won all kinds of competitions. I was hot stuff! Flash forward to my years of learning about the big city as I studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Almost got the lead in a new Broadway show! But Rita Marino's daughter got the part and the show closed after two weeks. Should have hired me, right? Anyway flash forward again through the years of working in opera, musical theatre, on bandstands and even a bit of commercials and film/TV and recording. I've appeared in major roles in opera, and on the stage in over 100 productions along with owning my own cabaret theatre and theatre arts conservatory down in Texas. The Black Diamond Cabaret Theatre and Lee Colee' Studios can still be found on Google and Facebook. Now, I've retired from wearing so many hats but found those creative instincts still needed an outlet -VO fit the bill! So nowadays, I am a study in contradictions. I wanted the traditional marriage to a strong and protective Southern boy but I didn't want kids. I wanted to be a housewife but didn't want to learn to cook...I loved fashion but nothing ever fit me. I was a prude but I could do things sober that most everyone else had to get stinking to do. I'm this quirky diva who just needs her dress hemmed, her hair trimmed and maybe some flats so she can walk (strutting in heels is needless wobbling). A manicure would be nice but I'd rather have a massage. Friends are wonderful but I also enjoy my own company and a good book. And I want my current and future clients to know working with me in the booth will be a lot of fun because I absolutely adore bringing your vision to life! Got VO? I do!

It all began with a simple intro to Voice Over class. I intended to read audio books. How hard is reading aloud? I'm an actress! But I got hooked on all the other possibilities! My first coach was the wonderful Rob Marley. I then found my mentor who still coaches me weekly, 11 time Emmy winner in sound design and VO, Jim Alburger. I've also worked blissfully with the dynamic Dan Friedman and Celia Siegle who put me on the right path professionally with my branding and marketing. My agents include Acclaim Talent Agency and Erika O'Bar Artist Agency. My niche in the business seems to be animation and quirky commercial characters along with E learning videos for children.

I'm very proud of my most recent project, voicing the role of GROTH in the 3rd episode of the children's educational video series, "Junga, the Dancing Yeti," now in post production. This was written and directed by Stephen Tako and produced by Jim Alburger. Also very proud of my narration of the promo internet video for The Prow'd House Bed and Breakfast in Texas. Other projects include my radio ad for Wilshire Gun Range in Oklahoma along with my audio book, "Revenge and Redemption," by Luanne Long.
