"From NPR, to Operatic, to an unseasoned sound--I'm a cameleon!"

Hi! I'm Bianca Bryan, VPM’s (VA's NPR station) underwriting announcer (think “Support for NPR”). I was born to US diplomat parents, and spent the majority of my young life overseas in Africa and South America and, last but not least, Northern Virginia. Voiceover was the perfect combination of my love for performing, singing, and implementing the long years studying opera and use of my vocal technique. I've had fun these recent years trying to throw that all out the window with the rise of the "non-announcer" sound. I love this field, because once you think you know it all, you learn something new!

 Szkolenie

I received my undergraduate degree in Opera at Manhattan School of Music in New York, and an MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College. I studied VO with Marla Kirban and Bruce Kronenburg in NYC and currently study with Debra Sperling. After being in NYC for 16 years, and after being hired by the NPR station in VA, I decided to leave for a quieter life in the suburbs, with my husband and two children. In Richmond, I actively work in the worlds of theater, film, voiceover, and television.

Voiceover credits include Anthem-Empire (recurring), Capital One, Adidas, Perdue Agribusiness (recurring), Virginia Lottery (recurring), EqualityVA (recurring), State Fair of VA, Chesapeake Bank (recurring), StruXture, and more. I appear in numerous audiobooks produced by Graphic Audio and several videogames, most notably: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. I am also a sports announcer: and one of the 7 women (out of 190!) in the US who is a PA Announcer for MLB/MiLB, announcing for the Richmond Flying Squirrels, who feed into the San Francisco Giants. I sing, do all sorts of silly voices, yet also can morph to a classically trained NPR-sound announcer easily! In general, my daily goal is to just have a blast behind the mic!! I edit in Adobe Audition, and record on an ElectroVoice RE-20 and use an Apollo Solo and/ or Focusrite, depending on my studio choice.
