I believe that the most effective Voice Over work is about establishing an authentic and trustworthy connection with the listener in a matter of seconds. I've been told that my conversational approach comes from an instinctual sense of empathy. Being a great listener has provided me with a lifetime of understanding for how people need to hear things in order to know that they themselves have been heard. That is a unique skill that I developed over many years in sales, and fostering the greatest relationships of my life with my two daughters. At the same time, working microphones as a recording and performing hip-hop artist and live event emcee provided me with a unique foundation when I entered the Voice Over world. Engaging with live audiences from a solo musical stage setting can be extremely intimate when performed correctly. From that stage setting the performer can directly engage with the entire audience while focusing on individuals to sort out what works, and what doesn't work, over years of performing. Until it becomes natural. My sense of optimism and humanity has been inspired by Fred Rogers. My sense of humor and love for Voice Over was inspired by Phil Hartman. My sense of purpose has been realized because of my daughters.

 Opleiding

My formal Voice Over training was done through the Such A Voice program over the course of several months. My previous work in sales had me voicing presentations both recorded and live in conference rooms and function halls since my peers knew my level of experience and comfort recording and public speaking because of my music background. I am a capable singer, but more fancy myself as a melodic rapper. As a music minor in college I took voice classes and was a part of signing groups as a bass or baritone depending on the needs of the groups and compositions.
