Miel Roman was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, to singer-actor parents. She studied art at NYU, but a major life change led to her voice-over career, in which she found instant success. While this shift was unexpected, her interest in voice-over work was not surprising. For Miel's 12th birthday, she asked her mom for a tape recorder, so she could record herself reading her favorite books and conduct mock interviews with family and friends. Her unique voice, described as both bright and ethereal, has led to her working on such diverse jobs as a training program for the U.S. Department of Defense and a documentary for the Solidarity Center. She enjoys the freedom that a voice-over career affords her, and the opportunity to meet clients from all over the world. Most recently, Miel has been heard as the voice of the mission statement for the Academy of American Poets' annual online 'Poetry & the Creative Mind' event. Nestled between poetry readings from such esteemed actors as Meryl Streep and Liam Neeson, this is an honor she has held for four straight years. She has also been heard in NSC Creative's immersive planetarium experience CAPCOM GO! celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. She was also the online voice of The Home Depot's Fall 2019 Halloween decor line. Miel lives with her six rescue cats near Atlanta, Georgia.

I'm most proud of the work I've done for The Academy of American Poets (chaired by Meryl Streep), for which they asked me to narrate their mission statement/intermission for their 2021 and 2022 online poetry events.
