Malya Muth
I have a multi-decade background in both classical and contemporary singing, as well as voicing characters and narration for puppet theatre. My voice is lower than most women, more textured and on the emotional side. You'll hear both articulate and casual delivery but likely at a medium pace, versus a fast one.
Originally from Los Angeles, I grew up in the 1960's and attended university for a degree in music and vocal performance then followed up with 14 years private study with a master teacher. I've sung in 15 languages. What this means for you is that I am versatile with language and can easily incorporate foreign or scientific terms into my voiceover scripts.
I began working in voiceover since 2018, and full-time in January of 2020. Here are the types of projects I tend to be hired for:
* Representing historical figures for audio guides or dramatic performances.
* Authority figures in work situations for eLearning or tutorials
* Doctors or other professionals in conversation, also for eLearning
* Comic characters with broad accents in German, Israeli, Italian, Greek
* Fine Arts narration also for audio guides
* Non-fiction audiobooks
I am reliable and professional, as well as an exceptional communicator.
Here's a joke: How do you know there's a soprano at the door? She can't find her key and doesn't know when to come in!
I will always be on time and fully prepared for your projects.
Formazione
Singing training translates closely to voice over training. My training stretches to 20+ years of learning about breath control, finding the accent, phrasing, expressing poetry and lyrics as a storyteller and mastering the art of rhythm and word play. I have a BA in Voice from the University of Washington and 14 years private study with master teacher Lois Hartzell. In addition to English, I am proficient in Italian, highly experienced in German and French, and also familiar with Russian, Spanish, Yiddish and Portuguese. While not fluent, I can use these accents effectively in English.
I spent 5 years as the core narrator/voice artist for Willowbranch Puppet Theatre in Seattle, WA.
My voiceover training today includes private and group study with Marc Cashman of Cashman Commercials - an LA Director, Artist, Coach as well as audio editing training with Larry Hudson of HudsonVO.com. I have been working with these coaches since December 2020. I worked with the Seattle Voice Academy in 2018.
