Smooth, luxurious, sultry British sound, good for narration, promos, audio-books, e-learning and more. I have been hired for strong British proper (RP) characters for commercials and plays in the US, oftentimes with comedic elements, sometimes with an authoritative quality.
My voice type is sultry, smooth, cello, luxurious, and conversational sounding; at other times I use a perky personality or heightened character personality, with different dialects, mostly from the UK. I have used the following dialects professionally (not included on the dialect page ) : west country, Scottish, Irish, Northern England, Southern England, London, and Cockney.
I also have performed professionally with mid Atlantic - accent ( old Hollywood style ) and general north American accent. In the States I am often hired for my natural British accent.
Ausbildung
I began as a child narrating in a play when i was 11, continued doing skits and songs with the Gloucester Youth County Drama Group; had to move to the States and began professionally with radio reading for WLRN, a public radio in Miami, Florida, USA; I started the poetry reading series for the blind. Then did some regional commercials in Miami in the United States. During that time I was also studying voice, singing, and acting whilst working as a professional actress in theatre.
Later, after moving to New York City, I continued with the radio reading for the public radio in the city, and did a few video games and acquired more training with a VO agent at Paradigm ( Theatrical Agency now based in NYC, LA, USA and London ). I also studied acting In NYC and began teaching.
I took a small break and went to study singing in France, and then returned to the USA, worked as an actress in NYC then moved to the Los Angeles area and Las Vegas area where I worked for a company based on the East Coast of the States called the Studio Center. I worked out of their studios based in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, as a VO artist, booking mostly commercial jobs through them, and some narration; I was with them for almost 7 years.
I have since continued with my VO training through the SagAftra ( professional actors union in the USA ) training programs with VO artists, audiobook readers, casting directors, agents, and individual talent like Anna Garduno, Hugh P Klitzke, both American VO professionals on the east coast (USA). I have just begun with VO DOJO based on the west coast (USA). Have also been working on my voice with Gordon Faith and Andrew Wade ( RSC ) in England.
Currently ( 2021 - 2022 ) training with the Tom Todoroff Conservatory in NYC.
