With a background in print journalism, I have excellent sight reading and an intuitive understanding of scripts. My natural voice is a clear and genuine British 'received pronunciation', but, having grown up in the north of England and spent time living in Russia, Mongolia, France and Thailand, as well as speaking fluent French, and conversational Russian and Spanish, I love to work in accents. While my voice is suited to natural, sympathetic reads, including charity, children's and museum audio types of content, I am happiest playing characters. I enjoy long-form work for the stamina and project-management it demands, be it corporate or character-driven in tone. While voice acting involves speaking, I am essentially a quieter sort of personality and take pride in being a good listener, taking clients' ideas and direction seriously and interpreting them intuitively.

Erfahrung
I have narrated and produced 10 fiction audiobooks from my home studio and have received good reviews on Audible. The independence to manage a long book and the trust given to me by the authors I work with are really valuable to me, allowing me to develop characters and accents, and set moods and moments. I am proud to be able to maintain big casts of characters over long periods.
I have also worked on shorter non-fiction audiobooks, one of which was a 1.5-hour-long explanation of the drug development process, so was full of tongue-twisting medical terminology.
Corporate work has included explainer videos for the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung, narrating and hosting the European Centre for Workers' Questions 'We Work Europe' podcast, narrating an archive-based research project from the German federal archives on 'Wiedergutmachung', or reparations, audio stings and adverts for the Lloyd's List Shipping Podcast, training software for Deloitte and NobleProg, and e-learning material for Boston Scientific. I also voiced a series of Ferrero online product adverts.
I am proud to have been a volunteer reader at my local talking newspaper in London since 2018, and from my home studio was able to continue recordings during pandemic lockdowns when our studio was closed. I also worked over the pandemic period as a volunteer reader for the Royal National Institute for Blind People.
Besonderheiten
THEATRE/STAGE WORK: I regularly attend drama classes and appeared on the stage in November 2024 in a production of Caryl Churchill's play 'Top Girls', playing Isabella Bird, Mrs Kidd and Joyce in theatres in Worcester and Malvern, UK. I also appeared at Worcester's Swan Theatre in July 2024 in short sketches, 'Blind Date Incorporated'. I am currently in rehearsal for a play of new writing to be staged in July 2025.
SINGING: I have sung as an Alto in choirs for decades, including the Financial Times choir, performing in Southwark Cathedral, London, and most recently with the London College of Music choir, performing in venues including Kings Place in Kings Cross, Reading Town Hall, Eton College, as well as local halls and churches. I am happy to bring some singing into my performances, and indeed have done so in audiobooks I have produced.
COPY EDITING: My background in print journalism -- writing, editing and proofreading -- means I have an excellent eye for detail, flow and grammar in copy, so I can assist with any script editing that might be required. I also write fiction myself, so am used to working with the rhythms of text and in particular how they sound when spoken out loud!
YOGA TEACHING/GUIDED MEDITATION: I have trained and worked as a yoga teacher, using my voice in soothing settings to relax and gently instruct clients.
