"Northern British VO - Deep & Sonorous, Flexible & Adaptable"

I'm a Northern British voice over talent, originally from Chorley in Lancashire, but now living just outside Manchester. I have a very flexible voice, and can do a variety of accents and characters, but my natural speaking voice is deep, rich, sonorous and with a native Lancashire accent.

I record my work in my personal studio, using an sE 2200a II mic with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 preamp/interface and Logic Pro X on my Macbook Pro. I can take direction over Skype, and provide broadcast-ready recordings via email or a number of file sharing services.

 Ausbildung

I've been doing all sorts of voices since I was a kid, and have worked on my VO chops in a variety of roles over the years. Since starting work as a voice over, I've honed my skills and expanded my range of accents and voices, applying them to a host of different media and industries. I've had coaching and advice from industry pros, and completed the Voice Over for Beginners course run by Gravy for the Brain back when I first started.

 Erfahrung

My biggest achievement has been narrating a documentary about Sir Alex Ferguson for FourFourTwo Films, featured on their website and YouTube in 2016. I've enjoyed narrating several children's audiobooks, and have also worked for big brands including BT, Iceland, Brussels Airlines and high-profile UK charities. I've worked with clients all over the world - it's exciting to know my voice is being heard all around the planet!

 Besonderheiten

As well as recording in my natural Northern British accent, plus Neutral British and Scottish accents, I do an old storyteller voice, similar to that of Richard Attenborough or Richard Harris. This has proved popular for all sorts of uses, especially children's books, and documentaries that require a bit of gravitas. It's also been used in some ironic, quirky promos and commercials too!
