I tend to be hired for projects which require a mellow female voice. I often get selected for documentary style reads, explainer videos, adverts, Elearning and commercial reads. I work from my home studio with a Rode NT1 microphone and I am happy to work on live directs with clients when required. My voice sits at a low to medium tone and I can stretch to a high pitch for character reads. I can tell a great story for young children after working with them for several years. I am now back in the corporate world in a Receptionist role and IVR recording is simple for me as I'm used to talking calmly and professionally with my clients. In my private life I love mediation work so I've recorded several for clients and narrated a book on mindfulness. I have worked professionally as a voice actor for five years and I'm very equipped to take directions and make a client's brief come to life. I am also a very active part of the voice over community and associated with many other talents who I can bring to a project.
Ausbildung
I have been a member of the VO Academy for four years and have studied different voice over genres under different professional mentors throughout this time. This experience has equipped me for directed sessions but has also helped me to find versatile ways to approach a project. Most importantly I understand how important a client's script and directions are and I love to find various ways to convey the script's story. During my time at the academy I have practised commercial reads, audio production, medical narration, character voice acting, documentary reads, video game characters, IVR recording, audibook narration, ELearning voice over, radio imaging, promo and trailer VO, emotions for acting, improv, sports promo and SFX.
Erfahrung
I voiced an advert for the Norwegian Tourist Board City Break for Women over 50s campaign that has had over 2..3 million view on YouTube and 1.3 million on Facbook. It was a clever campaign kicking off with 'Menopause' and generated a lot of discussion. It was the most fun Live Direct session I have experienced and I was delighted that it was received so well by so many women.
More recently I provided voice over for a London film company for one of their documentaries. Being NDA I can't disclose much more at this stage but it was a fascinating script and I was delighted to be part of it.
I frequently volunteer for a community radio station in Shropshire, they throw me a script and I provide the voice, or book other VOs then use music and SFX to produce finished adverts for radio broadcast.
I have worked on a few medical ELearning modules and it's always great to get my teeth into some fascinating medical jargon.
If you are looking for a charater I voice young children as well as middle aged, lady bosses! I'm always happy to stretch my skills and try more!
Besonderheiten
As above - I am able to audio produce using music and SFX.
I can draw too! Not that it helps my voice acting but as a trained children's illustrator I grew up with Adobe Photoshop so moving to Audition was childsplay so I'm adept at editing my work to a professional standard.
