Having read such a range of news across entire nations, from the most serious world events - to the fluffy and-finally pieces, my voice has had to vary dramatically, changing within a matter of seconds. I have worked for a number of BBC outlets, commercial radio companies in the UK, and for a number of years for Radio New Zealand.

As scripts can be written so close to bulletins, I quickly learnt how to judge a script as I was reading it live, meaning it doesn't take long to get a feel for a script and how it should be read. My work in hectic newsrooms mean I'm more than used to extremely tight deadlines, as well as juggling multiple projects at once. But being known as a reliable member of the team - I would always produce high standard work, and on-time.

 Ausbildung

My first voice coaching sessions began at university, but I had far more intense training as a young radio reporter and newsreader in the UK. I undertook regular and personally tailored coaching for some years, until I was in turn asked by management to coach our newest recruits, giving them help with rhythm, tone, stress and enunciation.

 Erfahrung

I have worked in broadcasting both in the UK and overseas for over 15 years, with experience in both news and more light-hearted programming. My background is in journalism, and I have spent many years reading news bulletins, and presenting mid-length news items as well as my own long-form documentaries. Realising the qualities of my voice, I was also asked to take on a more conversational role within one particular show, which was far warmer and more inviting than my usual work. It was a challenge I relished, and which we all enjoyed working on.

 Besonderheiten

I'm particularly qualified in the broadcast news arena, whether that's for short pieces or series-length projects. But my versatility means this authoritative tone can be altered in different ways to produce audio ranging from a captivating audiobook read, to warm but knowledgeable eLearning or corporate narration.
