"Trained actor/voice artist with 15+ years experience."
Emilea Wilson

My acting training combined with my experience in VoiceOver work and most importantly: my voice give me that competitive edge that has allowed me to work successfully in the world of VoiceOver for over ten years. I have worked primarily in commercial VoiceOver for television, radio and digital advertisements and have worked on many multi-spot campaigns for major brands in the local, regional, national network markets as well as internationally. I have recently expanded my offerings to animation, audiobook, promos, e-learning, podcasts and audio drama work and I am thrilled for the new challenge. My voice fits a range of ages and styles. I can play kid characters in animation; an edgy, cool older sister or a warm, caring, "keep-it-real" mom. I have a slight raspiness to my voice which plays well for podcasts and luxury/high end commercials but I'm also successful in conversational, approachable reads. I have a wealth of characters I can perform and offer a trusting voice of authority for e-learning or instructive type work. I also have a youthful voice that can be endearing, quirky and upbeat. I am very comfortable with improvisational "make-it-your-own" flare and happy to play plus I take direction well! I see VoiceOver as collaborative - whether I'm working with on a commercial with a director or an audiobook and its author. I love VoiceOver and love acting and would be happy to bring life through my voice to your project!

 Formación

My training consists first of acting. I graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Theatre Arts and continue my study with phenomenal teachers here in New York City, where I am based. There is never a stopping point with training in my craft. I also studied improvisational comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade in NY which lends to a skill set that is incredibly useful in my work as a voice artist. In terms of VoiceOver, I was signed and hit the ground running with no specific training in VoiceOver. My experience and success over the years is due to my acting training, my flexibility and willingness to take direction and of course my curiosity of how to grow as an artist. I continue to learn from colleagues and casting directors as I work in this field, and I am so grateful for the privilege of real world experience.

 Experiencia

Speaking of experience, I am so grateful for what I've accomplished thus far. I have worked primarily in commercial and have worked hard in that world. I've booked with dozens of high profile brands and have worked in everything from digital commercials and demos to local and regional radio spots to national and International television multi-spot campaigns. National network campaigns I've voiced include Samsung, Royal Caribbean, Mini Babybel, Dunkin Donuts, Outshine Fruit Bars, HomeGoods, ULTA Beauty as well as one-off national network commercials, digital and radio commercials for brands like GE, Sensodyne, , Cover Girl, Tide, Crest, Toyota, Suntrust, Robitussin and many others.

In terms of acting outside of VoiceOver, I've been cast in all areas - television, film and stage and on-camera commercials. My greatest moment has been my experience as a lead actor in a short film that was nominated for an Oscar in 2012. Being able to attend the Academy Awards as a nominee - one of three in our film- was incredible.

 Características

I have a professional home recording studio and am lucky enough to have married an actor/sound engineer/composer (he's pretty a pretty great person too) but he helps me record and troubleshoots for bookings. Our studio is an isolated room that serves as a control room/iso booth. Primarily, I like to use a Bluebird microphone for my voice but I also have a few more mics available. I have Apollo Twin preamp/AtoD. I record in Logic Pro on a Mac. We use Source Connect for client real-time notes.
