Over the past 14 years I have worked as a translator in different industries and in various cultural contexts, including North and Latin America, Europe and Asia. This has given me a particular perspective on intercultural communication.

I have had the opportunity to manage different types of projects of various sizes, collaborating with other translators, proofreaders and editors. Amongst other things, I have translated various websites, from a single landing page to a 60,000-word marketplace. I have also collaborated with marketing departments to research keywords and develop SEO and content marketing strategies in Spanish.

I believe that a good translation should convey the message of the original text, of course! But it should also “sound” natural and fluent, and be respectful of cultural differences. That means that you want your readers to forget that they are actually reading a translation and, at the same time, you want them to wonder at the unique perspectives put forth in the text.

My approach to translation is based on the analysis of the cultural, linguistic and functional specificities of both the source text and the target audience.

I consider translation to be a creative process and part of a larger dialogue between peoples and cultures.
