I have a versatile voice and a good ear for accents (far more than Bodalgo will allow me to list officially!), a flair for character voices and a storyteller's innate sense of the rhythms of spoken word. My natural narrative voice is clear, warm and assured, and previous work as an English teacher and IT trainer has given me a delivery well-suited to eLearning and documentary work. Fifteen years in the IT industry has also given me a broad base of understanding of technical terminology, which I can deliver convincingly and authentically.
Ausbildung
I came to voice work primarily through storytelling and folk singing, which I have done for many years, and also have long experience in teaching, IT training and stage acting.
I have received voiceover training from Gary Terzza, voice coaching from Yvonne Morley, and receive ongoing vocal and acting coaching from Janine Sharp of Hay Theatre Company. I have also completed the Bee Audio Home Studio Certification Course for audiobook production.
Erfahrung
I have narrated more than 20 audiobooks in various genres, including the official Dylan Thomas Centenary audiobook, and Railhead, by Carnegie Medal and Smarties Prize-winning author, Philip Reeve. and I'm a regular narrator for audiobook production companies Bee Audio/Worldwide Audio and Whitehouse Sound.
I've done numerous corporate, commercial and eLearning projects, and have recently been selected to be the UK voice of GS1, the global barcode organisation.
I've also done a range of character voice work, from computer games and apps, to radio station imaging, and am a regular, rostered voice for imaging specialists Music Radio Creative.
